The Christ Hospital School of Nursing will host a community outreach to Jersey City residents this May at several events. The School of Nursing will be sending students into the community to provide blood pressure tests to residents free-of-charge.
The first outreach will take place at the Everything Jersey City Festival, this Saturday, May 22nd from 11 am to 6pm. Christ Hospital is a sponsor of the event and its table can be found at the festival’s Meet and Greet tent located at the corner of Bowers Street and Central Avenue.

The outreach will continue on May 25th at a Health Fair hosted by the Joseph H. Brensinger PS #17 located at 600 Bergen Avenue in Jersey City. Students from the School of Nursing will provide blood pressure, vision, height, and weight measurements to students and their parents. The general public will be able to receive blood pressure tests at the Shop Rite of Metro Plaza, located at 400 Marin Boulevard in Jersey City from 11 am to 6pm.

According to Lori Byrd, PhD, RN, faculty, School of Nursing, “We feel this is a great opportunity to provide an important community service to the local residents and give our Nursing School students the opportunity to receive some great experience.”
