Christ Hospital School of Nursing has Been Re-designated as One of Six Institutions to Receive the NLN Center of Excellence in Nursing Education

The National League for Nursing (NLN) has re-designated the Christ Hospital School of Nursing (CHSON) as a NLN Center for Excellence for 2012 ─ 2016. CHSON has been selected as one of six schools of nursing from across the nation to have been accredited with this honor. These institutions will be formally recognized at the NLN’s Annual Education Summit which will be held in Anaheim, CA, September 19 ─ 22, 2012.

This is the second time that the CHSON has been granted this designation in the category for Creating Environments that Enhance Student Learning and Professional Development. It was previously designated as a Center for Excellence from 2009 ─ 2012.

CHSON is a cooperative nursing program affiliated with Hudson County Community College. It also has a collaborative relationship with New Jersey City University, whereby students can apply to the University at the time of application to the School of Nursing. Upon completion of the Cooperative Program they can transition seamlessly to obtain their BSN in 15 months. Founded in 1890, CHSON offers a full-time day division, part-time evening division and accelerated LPN to RN program. Graduates of the School constantly excel on the National Nursing Boards with a 95.5 average passage rate for the past ten years.
