Pre Entrance Exam study guides provide value study information for preparing to take NLN Pre Entrance Exam. The guide can be purchased at the college book store or from publishing websites. The exam is comprised of three main areas: Verbal skills, which consists of both word knowledge and reading comprehension; mathematics, which includes basic calculations, word problems, and incorporates algebra, geometry, conversions, graphs, and applied mathematics; and science, which examines general biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science.
Acceptance is contingent upon the submission of all required documents. All students are required to be CPR Healthcare provider BLS certified prior to the first nursing course. In addition, all students are required to have malpractice insurance, complete medical records and immunizations, a criminal background check. All students are strongly encouraged to carry health/medical insurance.
Criminal Background Check
All applicants to the Christ Hospital School of Nursing must submit to and satisfactorily complete a criminal background check as a condition to admission into the School of Nursing. An offer of admission will not be final until the completion of the background check with the results as deemed favorable. Admission may be denied or rescinded based on a review of the background check. Students who refuse to submit to a background check will be denied acceptance to the School of Nursing.
In addition, the New Jersey Board of Nursing requires a criminal background check to obtain licensure as a registered nurse. Past criminal history may have an impact upon the ability to obtain licensure and employment as a registered nurse.
All fees for the criminal background check are the responsibility of the student. All background screenings are conducted by a third party to ensure privacy. The results of the criminal background check are sent to the Dean/Director of the Christ Hospital School of Nursing and all reports are kept strictly confidential.
