Admissions Requirements
Step 1: Applications
Application for admission may be obtained from the school upon request or on line, www.christhospital.org. A $50.00 NON-REFUNDABLE processing fee must accompany the application.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: May 1st of the year of entry. (subject to change pending completion of enrollment of #22) EARLY APPLICATION/TESTING PROCESS IS ADVISED.
Admission Requirements:
*In addition, 5 of the following 3 credit General Education Courses must be part of the degree and a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or “C” must be documented in the transcript.
Following course selection: note the required courses from the six choices:
College Level Examination Program (CLEP) testing as well as any high school courses that result in college credits (Advanced Placement) would be acceptable as part of the degree transcript.
Official transcripts should be sent at the time of the application. Any prerequisite course material as well as an official transcript will be evaluated the year of the applicant’s entry as determined by the Admissions Committee of Christ Hospital School of Radiography.
Foreign Education:
Applicants with high school and/or college education from outside the United States must have their transcripts evaluated by a professional evaluation agency. A course by course evaluation is required and the above listed General Education courses must be evaluated as a 3 credit course with a passing grade of 2.0 or “C”. Step 2: Technical Standards for Essential Job Functions

Step 3: Entrance Examination
Will be scheduled in November; February; and May
Psychological Services Bureau Occupations Aptitude Examination-Revised is given for the entrance examination. Applicant should receive a preferred average of 25% or above in Academic Aptitude & Reading Comprehension in order to begin the interview process. www.psbtests.com PSB Health Occupations Study Guide.
Retesting may be repeated once in application year, highest score accepted. There will be a 1 point deduction on the application summation form for retesting and will be conducted in December, March and June.
A NON-REFUNDABLE $50.00 fee for each testing is required.
Step 4: Recommendations / References
Two letters of recommendation (no relatives or friends) must be submitted prior to the interview.
Step 5: Interview Process and Visitation
The interview and visitation in the Radiology Department will be scheduled. The interview will be conducted by the Program Director and the Clinical Coordinator. A designee will take the candidate on an extensive tour of the site to shadow and experience what radiographers do as they perform their regular job duties.
Step 6: Acceptance into the School Program
Acceptance into the school program is based on the following criteria:
New ARRT Requirements for 2015:
The new ARRT regulation states that candidates applying for certification beginning January 1, 2015, (Class starting 2013) must have earned a minimum of an associate degree from an accredited institution accepted by the ARRT to be eligible to sit for the ARRT exam. The degree does not have to be in the radiologic sciences; however it must include the 3 credit courses listed above with a passing grade of 2.0 or “C” listed in STEP 1.
Non-Immigrant Students
We are not approved for non-immigrant students or foreign exchange student by the United States Department of Justice.
Transfer Students
We do not accept transfer students into the School Program.
Pregnant Personnel and Leave of Absence
Any student suspecting that she may be pregnant may volunteer to notify the Program. The pregnant individual should inform the program of their status as soon as it becomes known to them. A physician’s note verifying the pregnancy status and outlining any physical or other limitations shall be provided upon request.
Upon confirmation, the student will discuss the available options with the Program Director to establish a written mutual agreement concerning educational continuation and counseling regarding radiation concerns to be discussed with the Radiation Physicist.

Leave of Absence
Maximum length of time for a leave of absence is 8 weeks. Radiography programs are 24 continuous months. This time frame is for both pregnant and non-pregnant students
